Formulation_Description	Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution of 20mM PB, 300mM NaCl, pH 7.4.
Storage	Lyophilized protein should be stored at < -20°C, thoμgh stable at room temperature for 3 weeks.Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-7°C for 2-7 days.Aliquots of reconstituted samples are stable at < -20°C for 3 months.
Reconstitution	Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water.
Purity	Greater than 95% as determined by reducing SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin	Less than 0.1 ng/μg (1 EU/μg) as determined by LAL test.
Background	Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) is the prototypic ligand of the TNF superfamily. TNFα forms a homotrimer and functions by activating two types of receptors TNF-R1 (TNF receptor type 1,p55R) and TNF-R2 (TNF receptor type 2,p75R). TNFα is a pleiotropic cytokine that is capable to promote inflammation, to induce apoptotic cell death, and to inhibit tumorigenesis and viral replication. TNFα is a potent lymphoid factor that exerts cytotoxic effects on a wide range of tumor cells and certain other target cells.
Biological_Activity	Measured in a cytotoxicity assay using L 929 mouse fibroblast cells in the presence of the metabolic inhibitor actinomycin D. The ED50 for this effect is 0.01-0.04 ng/ml.
