| Background | Actin is a highly conserved protein that participates in various types of cell movements and is widely expressed in all eukaryotic cells. The ACTA1 gene encodes skeletal muscle alpha actin, which is the main subtype of adult skeletal muscle actin and interacts with various proteins to produce muscle contraction force. The only difference between members of the actin family is the 8-amino group Acid N-terminal. This antibody has specificity for ACTA1. No cross reactivity with other actin subtypes. |
